“Frozen”. Series of paintings inspired by the polar regions. Acrylic and watercolour paint on canvas.

The paintings are frozen, while the paint is still wet, at -10 degrees for between 6-12 days before being gradually thawed and dried. The freezing treatment creates cracks and structures in the images, and the painted landscapes bend and change. Sometimes the paint peels off completely. “The damage” from the freezing treatment makes the original paintings very fragile so the images are scanned/photographed and printed on paper.
