“The Thing Is” delves into our culture´s unceasing desire for more; more things, more experiences, more validation. But what happens when we no longer need these items? We discard them, consigning them to the concept of “away.” Beyond the physical act of disposal lies an idea of a hidden space, an elsewhere. “The Thing Is” considers this elusive realm where forgotten objects reside, and investigates the idea that there exists a space were stuff can go that is elsewhere from the world we live in.
