Apology no. IV: The thing is (2023-).
The Thing Is explores modern culture’s endless desire for more; more possessions, more experiences, and more validation. But what happens to the things we no longer need? We discard them, imagining they go “away.” This project delves into the idea of this hidden “elsewhere,” a space where forgotten objects are sent, beyond our world yet deeply tied to it.
Part of The Apologies Series, this ongoing project reflects on consumption, waste, and the environmental impacts of our need for excess.
Everything we ever made
is still around,
layered in soil, washed out to sea,
drifting through air.
Unseen, as we choose blindness,
and live among the remnants,
footprints in a closed loop.
The world is small.
There is no outside.
